Overview
Ravolo underwent a significant transformation, evolving from a Web3 protocol enabling cross-game access to becoming a full-fledged gaming studio. My work spanned two phases of this journey: the initial brand identity for their protocol and the complete redesign when the team shifted focus to building their own games.
By working closely with Ravolo's founder, I ensured that the brand retained its original essence while aligning with their new vision. This included designing an entire font library, creating a distinct imagery direction, and blending the brand with the founder’s personal values of innovation and creativity.
Challenge
In the early stages, Ravolo needed a visual identity that represented the highly technical and futuristic nature of its Web3 protocol. This required creating a brand that was minimal yet striking, appealing to developers and game creators.
However, when the team pivoted to a gaming studio, the challenge expanded: how to retain the loyalty of their existing community while crafting a vibrant and immersive identity that resonated with gamers. The founder’s personal creative style also needed to shine through, ensuring that Ravolo felt authentic and reflective of their leadership.
Process
Phase 1 (Web3 Protocol):
Designed an intricate yet approachable brand identity with clean typography and abstract visual elements to emphasize the futuristic nature of the protocol.
Developed the initial landing page and visual assets with a focus on sleek, minimalist aesthetics.
Phase 2 (Gaming Studio):
Collaborated with the founder to reimagine the brand, aligning it with their creative vision and personal aesthetic.
Designed a fresh design system that balanced Ravolo’s tech roots with a bold, playful identity reflective of the gaming industry.
Created a comprehensive font library to support consistent communication across all brand touchpoints.
Developed the imagery direction with immersive visuals to capture the storytelling potential of their games.
Redesigned key assets, including the landing page, holder dashboards, and game UIs, to reflect the studio’s new focus.
Results
Successfully transitioned Ravolo’s identity from a Web3 protocol to a gaming studio without alienating their existing community.
Delivered a simple yet iconic brand identity that balances professionalism and creativity, mirroring the founder's values.
Created a font library and imagery direction that became integral to their visual identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
Designed and implemented a fully responsive website and UI for their games and dashboards, enhancing user experience and accessibility.
By embracing both the technical and creative aspects of Ravolo’s brand, I helped shape an identity that reflects their journey while setting the stage for future growth.
